Chandigarh Regional Office started functioning on October 03, 1966. Initially the Office started with only Agriculture Credit Department (ACD). In 1968, Agriculture Refinance Corporation (ARC), later on known as Agriculture Refinance & Development Corporation (ARDC) also started functioning from here. Exchange Control Department (ECD), now called the Foreign Exchange Department (FED), followed on September 01, 1978. Subsequently, all other operational and specialised departments started operations. At present, the Office functions with 16 departments/Cells. The Office moved to its own building in Sector 17 in 1988.

• DOS(NBFCs): States of Punjab, Himachal Pradesh and the UT of Chandigarh

• DOS (UCBs): States of Haryana, Punjab and the UT of Chandigarh

• OBO: States of Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, UT of Chandigarh and only Panchkula, Yamuna Nagar and Ambala Districts of Haryana

• CEPC: States of Punjab, UT of Chandigarh and only Panchkula, Yamuna Nagar & Ambala Districts of Haryana
