Revision of Returns Formats –
New Software for compilation and submission of returns Please refer to our letter DBS. FID. No. 668 to 677 10.06.00/2001-2002 dated December 14, 2001 on the above subject. The software module for compiling and submission of off-site returns by financial institutions has since been developed after considering and as far as possible incorporating suggestions received from various financial institutions. The necessary training was imparted to the officers of the financial institutions at Bankers Training College on 27th and 28th December 2001. 2 A Compact Diskette containing the software is enclosed which may be installed in the system at your end. The procedure for installation and minimum configuration required has been already circulated to you in the Help Manual at the time of training at BTC. 3. As you are aware the revised system of returns is effective from the quarter ended September 2001. You are requested to furnish the returns for the quarters ended September 2001 and December 2001 immediately but not later than February 10, 2002 by using the new software. Data file may be sent by e-mail to the address osmos@rbi.org.in. In case of difficulty in sending by e-mail you may send the data by floppy diskette. However, a hard copy may please be sent in either of the above option. For meaningful comparison of data it is essential to have the historical data base. It is, therefore, requested that the data as on 31st March 2001 and 30th June 2001 may also be compiled in the revised format using the new software and submitted in due course but not later than 15th March 2002. 4 Please acknowledge receipt.
