Photographs The 557th meeting of the Central Board of Reserve Bank of India was held on Thursday, May 19, 2016 at Mumbai. Dr. Raghuram G. Rajan, Governor, Reserve Bank of India, chaired the meeting. Besides Deputy Governors Shri Harun R. Khan, Dr. Urjit R. Patel, Shri R. Gandhi, and Shri S.S. Mundra of the Reserve Bank of India, the other Directors of the Central Board of the Reserve Bank present at the meeting were Dr. Nachiket M. Mor, Prof. Damodar Acharya, Shri Natarajan Chandrasekaran and Shri Bharat N. Doshi. The meeting was also attended by Government nominee director on the Central Board, Shri Shaktikanta Das, Secretary, Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance, Government of India. The Board discussed the national and international macroeconomic scenario and reviewed the working of specific areas of operations of the Reserve Bank of India viz. information technology and cyber security, establishment of IT subsidiary of the Reserve Bank of India, operations relating to Government’s banking business, statistical and information management related activities, customer complaints in respect of banking services and currency management operations. Certain other issues of immediate concern to the working of the Bank were also discussed and approved. The Central Board also discussed and recommended to the Government a set of designs for the new banknotes series which, on approval from the Government, will be introduced in due course. Sangeeta Das
