The Reserve Bank of India will shortly put into circulation new Ferritic Stainless Steel Coins of Re.1 with the theme 'NRITYA MUDRA'. The coins shall conform to the following dimension, design and composition, namely :

Designs: Obverse : This face of the coin is divided into three portions with two horizontal lines. The centre portion shall bear the 'Lion Capitol of Ashoka Pillar' with the legend “सत्यमेव जयते“ inscribed below. The top portion contains word “भारत“in Hindi and 'INDIA' in English. The bottom portion contains the year in International Numerals. Reverse : This face of the coin contains visuals showing one of the 'Mudras' of India's most famous classical dance, 'Bharat Natyam' in centre right periphery and in centre left periphery denomination value '1' in International Numerals, below that the word “रूपये“ in Hindi and the word 'Rupee' in English. The coin is a legal tender as provided in the Coinage Act, 1906. The existing One Rupee Coins in circulation shall also continue to be legal tender.
