Engagement of Medical Consultant (MC) on contract basis with fixed hourly remuneration

Applications are invited from eligible candidates for preparing a panel to fill up 1 (one) post (unreserved) of Medical Consultant (MC) on contract basis, with fixed hourly remuneration for dispensaries of the Reserve Bank of India at its Dum Dum Staff Quarters at 1/B, B. K. Pal Lane, Dum Dum, Kolkata – 700 030 so as to reach the Regional Director, Reserve Bank of India, Main Office Building, Human Resource Management Department, 15, Netaji Subhas Road, Kolkata – 700 001, not later than March 8, 2013.


Applications are invited from eligible candidates for preparing a panel to fill up 1 (one) post (unreserved) of Medical Consultant (MC) on contract basis, with fixed hourly remuneration for dispensaries of the Reserve Bank of India at its Dum Dum Staff Quarters at 1/B, B. K. Pal Lane, Dum Dum, Kolkata – 700 030 so as to reach the Regional Director, Reserve Bank of India, Main Office Building, Human Resource Management Department, 15, Netaji Subhas Road, Kolkata – 700 001, not later than March 8, 2013.

i. Applicant should be a medical graduate of Indian or Foreign University recognized by the Medical Council of India.

ii. The Applicant should have a minimum of 2 years experience in any hospital or as a Medical Practitioner.

iii. The applicants having their own private dispensary or place of residence (registered) within a radius of 5 Kms. from the dispensaries at Dum Dum Staff Quarters will be given preference.

iv. The remuneration of the Medical Consultant on contract basis will be fixed with reference to the actual duty hours performed and will be all inclusive.

v. The Contract for engagement will be initially for a period of three years, which can be extended on such terms and conditions which are mutually agreeable to both the parties.

vi. The rate of remuneration and the duty hours (as envisaged now) is tabulated below:

8.00 am. to 1.00 pm. (Monday - Friday) and 8.00 am to 12 pm on Saturday Total duty hours: maximum 29 hours per week.

Rs. 450/- per hour for the first three years of contractual service and Rs. 550/- per hour after completion of three years of contractual service

Out of total monthly remuneration a sum of
Rs. 1000/- may be treated as conveyance expense.

vii. The Reserve Bank of India reserves the right to review the rate of remuneration from time to time and alter the duty hours and location of dispensary at its discretion in case it becomes expedient to suit administrative and operative requirements.

viii. Interested and eligible candidates may please make an Application in the prescribed Format as at Annex – (i). The application should be sent in a cover super scribed ‘Application for the post of Medical Consultant on contract basis (with fixed hourly remuneration).

Selection Procedure

ix. The Reserve Bank of India will be conducting an interview for selection of panel to fill up 1 (one) post (unreserved) of Medical Consultant (MC).

x. The Board of Interview will have at least one qualified medical professional.

xi. The Bank will not enter into any correspondence with the applicants who are not been called for the interview.

xii. The shortlisted applicant/s after Interview will be subjected to medical tests as per prescribed norms before engagement of the services of Medical Consultant (MC).

xiii. The selected applicant has to sign an agreement for Contract with the Bank before engagement of the services of Medical Consultant (on contract basis) with fixed hourly remuneration.
