Notes : 1.The revised format from this year (2016) onwards would also present the Treasury Bills ownership along with Central and State Government securities. Also, State Governments’ holding of securities are being shown separately for the first time. 2.State Government Securities include special bonds issued under UDAY scheme. Treasury Bills include Cash Management Bills also. 3.Earlier revision of this table in 2013 had started capturing more granular categories of holders. During same time onwards, Central Government securities were presented including special securities. In addition, Primary Dealers category was disaggregated into Bank PDs and Stand-alone PDs. While Stand-alone PDs have been shown as separate category, Bank PDs were clubbed with Scheduled Commercial Banks. To that extent, the data from 2013 onwards for these categories are not comparable with data of previous years. 4.Source of data are banks’ SGL/CSGL balances maintained with Reserve Bank of India/custodian banks.
