Minutes of Pre-Bid Meeting - Supply of Fully Covered Container Trucks/Vehicles for Transportation of Bank Notes, Belapur, Navi Mumbai

As part of the tendering process, Pre-Bid Meeting for the Tender floated by Issue Department, RBI, Belapur for Supply of fully covered container trucks/vehicles for Transportation of Bank Notes was conducted on January 24, 2022 at 15.00 hrs at New Conference Hall, RBI, Belapur where the following officials from RBI and the prospective tenderers participated.

The queries raised by the representatives of the prospective tenderers, relevant paras/clauses in the tender document and the clarifications issued by RBI, Belapur are as under:

1. How many vehicles are required to be supplied on a single day? Section II / S.No.3 It was clarified that requirement for container trucks / vehicles will depend upon the quantum of work which may undergo change as per the Bank’s requirement.

As mentioned in S.No.3 of Section III, one of the eligibility criteria to bid for the captioned tender is to possess a minimum number of 7 fully covered container trucks /vehicles out of which at least 6 container trucks should be having storing capacity of 70-80 note boxes and at least one container truck should be having a capacity of 200-220 note boxes, with each box having average size being approximately 82*71*32 cm weighing approx.75-140 kgs each.
2. Whether the rate sought for supply of container trucks for Inward Fresh Remittances received at various Railway Station(s)/airport(s)/other places - Mumbai, Thane and Raigarh districts to RBI Belapur is lumpsum or rate per Km? Section VII / Item (A) It was clarified that the rate sought for supply of container trucks for Inward Fresh Remittances received at various Railway Station(s)/airport(s)/ other places - Mumbai, Thane and Raigarh districts to RBI Belapur is lumpsum.
3. What will be the working hours for supply of container vehicles? Section III / Duties of the Contractor (iii) It was clarified that the notice given to supply adequate number of vehicles for transportation of currency notes packed in boxes shall be complied with, even if it requires working beyond ordinary business hours or on a day / days declared as Public Holiday/s under the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881 including Saturday and Sunday or any other extant statute / provision applicable in this respect.
4. Whether enabling the container vehicle with GPS & Camera facility is mandatory? Section II / S.No.1 As per the scope of tender, the tenderer shall supply sufficient number of fully covered container trucks/vehicles having metallic body of sufficient thickness, preferably bullet / tamper proof with secure tamper proof double locking arrangement, enabled with Global Positioning System (GPS) for tracking of vehicle by the Bank, and CCTV coverage enabled for passenger and cargo compartment and wireless mobile communication system along with hooter for the transportation of Bank notes packed in boxes.
