1 What is Technical Bid? ‘Technical Bid’ will contain the exhaustive and comprehensive technical details as enumerated in the RFP document. It is reiterated that The Technical Bid shall NOT contain any pricing or commercial information at all and if the Technical Bid contains any price related information, then that Technical Bid would be disqualified and would NOT be processed further.
2 Will RBI be providing Audio files with security features, or will we have to create it based on content given by RBI? Deleted from RFP. No audio file provision is required. Please ignore this point.
3 To create Apple and Google Play accounts an email id is required. Is it okay if vendor can create a GMAIL id and use that to create accounts? Necessary Details will be provided after the award of contract.
4 What is the address details and other details entered for admin account creation for Apple and Google? Necessary Details will be provided after the award of contract.
5 Is Bank Guarantee valid as EMD of said amount? In addition to Demand Draft, Banker's cheque and Pay Order, Bank Guarantee will also be considered as valid EMD.
6 Charges for Change Management, what does it mean when you say “_____* 100 Man Days”? What is the multiplication for? The multiplication is (Per Man Day Cost * 100 Man Days).
7 Do we consider notes having Mahatma Gandhi series notes only or include Lion Capital Series issued before 1996 in scope? Please refer to RFP to Clause 1.2, Point - 1
8 Do we consider that the parameters of legal tender banknotes detection will be provided by RBI? Please refer to RFP Clause 1.2, Point - 1
9 Do we need to create application of currency note based on image processing or any other mobile application will be considered? Please refer to RFP Clause 2.2, Point - 18
10 It is near to impossible for a visually impaired person to use normal mobile device without the aid of any virtual assistant like Apple's Siri or Google assistant in absence of this using the mobile device or installing any app becomes a challenge for visually impaired person. "Talk back" is a feature (both for iOS and Android) that becomes necessity of a visually impaired person to user various aspects of the mobile phone and in some cases even an App. How do you suggest us on envisioning these assistants to play a part in our solution with the assumption that user will already be using these services (because if they don't they can't use feature of mobile device or any other mobile app)? We expect the adoption to be driven in multiple ways such as support from family, community support etc. This aspect will be covered during planning phase of Beta Roll out and Full Roll Out.
11 Solution will be deployed on cloud or RBI will provide the required Infrastructure? Please refer to RFP Clause 2.3, Point - 1 and point -2
12 Solution should be in high availability mod? Please refer to RFP Clause 2.3, Point - 1
13 Solution should have DR? Please refer to RFP Clause 2.3, Point - 1
14 Do we consider that we (vendor) will bear the cost of purchasing app store and play store account on behalf of RBI till the validity of contract? Yes, all the cost will be borne by the vendor to maintain the App in iOS and Android App store till the validity of the contract.

15 Will RBI allow deviation in iOS minimum version support to start from iOS 10.x? The Bank is looking for Android and iOS version and minimum it should be Android 5 and and iOS 8 and above.

16 Log to be stored on the server? What should be the time duration of logs to be stored i.e. should it be 60 days log or 90 log? Please refer to Sec 2.4, Point - 1 and 2.3, Point- 6 which stated that the logs should be stored locally for 30 days.
17 The mobile application should be a device only app with no server side components. In this case do we assume that there won't be any requirement of server side tracking or analytics by RBI staff? Please refer to Sec 2.4, Point - 1 of RFP wherein it is stated that the application will not have any server side components
18 If we provide Minimum Camera sensor with focus and depth configuration for detection and Vibrator configuration for non-sonic mode detection alert as requirement will RBI consider the proposal? The bidder is to free to propose the capability of solution and same will be evaluated. Further, please refer to RFP Clause 2.4, Point - 3
19 Can we provide conditional working of application based on Environment within scope? Ex. In case of complete dark environment flash light to be considered as necessary requirement. The bidder is free to propose the capability of solution and same will be evaluated. Further, please refer to RFP Clause 2.4, Point - 3
20 Can we provide minimum bandwidth required for application to be downloaded in 2 minutes within reasonable parameters of lightweight application standards? The bidder is free to propose the capability of solution and same will be evaluated. Please refer to RFP Clause 2.4, Point - 3
21 Test cases will be provided by RBI or we have to prepare and submit the test for approval? Please refer to RFP Clause 3.4, Point - 10
22 Is any training content required? Please refer to RFP Clause 3.5, Point - 2
23 Cost of VAPT will be borne by RBI? VAPT will be done by RBI. However, Defects/non-conformance related fixes are to be done by the successful bidder at their own cost and within reasonable timeframe. It is expected that secure software development lifecycle is adhered to by the bidder during the development process.

24 Do we need to show all features in beta version of software solution or most important ones within mentioned deadline? Beta version of the app shall have all the capability to satisfy all requirements. Bidder shall incorporate the feedback and stabilize the application within 60 days of release of beta version.

25 Modification changes required for Compatibility with new OS / device should be treated as Change request as we are not having details of new releases of OS & devices. There is no change to this clause. However bidder can make provision for such activities in the overall project cost.
26 You have mentioned that “The Non-Disclosure Agreement is required to be signed by both parties i.e. the Bank and the Bidder.” Please confirm when this NDA will be signed? Please refer to RFP Clause 7.1, Point - 7. The bidder is required to submit the Non-Disclosure undertaking in the prescribed format Annexure J along with the technical bid.
27 We are an MSME & NSIC registered entity, would we be eligible towards exemption from EMD fees. EMD is exempted to MSEs subjected to providing the required document/ certificate confirming the MSE status.
28 Please confirm Development will be Offshore. Please refer to RFP Clause 8.11
29 How may support location are envisaged by RBI? Please refer to RFP Clause 8.11
30 Mobile App should be Native or Hybrid? Bidders are free to propose the type of mobile app as part of their solution. However, it needs to be considered that Native apps provides the fastest and best performance.
31 In which Environment the UAT will be performed by RBI team? UAT will be done on the Beta Release of the Mobile App.
32 What will be the duration of UAT Phase? UAT duration will be totally dependent on the capability of the mobile application and the satisfactory coverage of all the requirements.
33 Content of Audio-Video/Audio Only training will be in English. Please confirm? The minimum requirement for language is Hindi and English. Any additional Indian language may be proposed by the bidder. Option to select the preferred language can be part of the solution and one time configuration similar to Disability Type.
34 Duration of the warranty period is not mentioned. What will be the duration of warranty Period? There is no warranty period, only post implementation support after Go_live.
35 Is any external device is expected RFP is only for mobile based application without any hardware attachments.
36 iPad Tablet support This RFP is only for smartphones.
37 How much % of note will be sufficient to scan? The application should be capable to identify the banknotes by scrolling/placing a portion or section of the banknote. Bidders are free to propose the best approach as part of their solution.
38 Educating Visually plus Hearing impaired user about the application is more challenging as in this case proposed mobile app cannot educate the user about accessibility features through audio. In this case we envision that RBI will float application user guide to this type of user and content of this guide will be provided by vendor in English language, please comment. We expect the adoption to be driven in multiple ways such as support from family, community support etc. This aspect will be covered during planning phase of Beta Roll out and Full Roll Out. The user training manual will be Audio in Hindi and English which shall be available in the mobile app. Any additional indian language may be proposed by the bidder.
39 Can we considered use of back camera of mobile only for identification of bank notes considering the fact that mobile phone has better back cameras and it is easier for a user to use back camera for identifying the banknote? Back Camera will be used for identifying bank notes using the mobile app.
40 There is a limitation of mobile phone's camera in getting proper image in low light. How should we handle the requirement of the requirement that says identification should be possible in low light as well as there is not clarification of what is considered as low light? Low light conditions can vary from evening and night time, light during fog, rains, cloudy conditions, storms, etc. Bidders are encouraged to come up with innovative solutions as part of their solutions.
41 Some iPADs and Tablets are non-flash version. Can we mention hardware deviation affecting functionality performance under certain conditions? This RFP is only for smartphones.
42 We understand that RBI is looking for a solution that would require to identify the bank notes of any denominations. This can be achieved by using various technologies viz. OCR technologies/ Machine Learning application.

Since in the RFP nothing specifically has been mentioned of which technology should the bidder emphasize to provide its solution, thus we Please request you to please specify of which technology to be used.

This would help the bidder in preparing the financial quotations.
The bidder is to free to propose the capability of solution and same will be evaluated
43 We request you to Please clarify the below mentioned points:

1. It has been mentioned that the application would have no server-side components. However, there is a requirement of storing the logs for 30days. We assume that these logs would be stored in the phone internal memory of the mobile apps user and no separate server is required to store such datas?

2. Please modify the clause to state that the application should be compatible with iOS v9.0 or above. As the older versions are not supported by the respective companies and procurement/maintenance of devices with version lower than iOS 9 is not possible.

3. As per page number 8 the time frame for project completion is 2 months which might not be enough for all the activities such as planning, development, QA, UAT. Please modify the go live date to 1st December to allow at least 3 months for the project completion.

1. Yes, the logs will be stored in phone's internal memory.

2. The mobile application should be compatible with all the devices which run on any version of the operating systems (minimum version is Android 5 and iOS 8) for which the respective companies are still providing support.
Please refer to Clause - 2.3, Point - 3.

3. There is no change to this clause.

44 Missed Cal to a special pre-defined support number indicates IVRS integration.

Please clarify whether integration of IVRS is a part of the scope or not.
We expect the incoming feedback from various channels such as missed call, sms or app store feedback to be monitored which is to be used for application improvement. App store feedback will be monitored by RBI and feedback will be shared with Vendor.
