Data are presented in 3 Sections: I) Balance Sheet, II) Profit & Loss Accounts and III) Selected Ratios. Data presented in balance sheet and profit & loss accounts sections are based on the banks’ published annual accounts as per the new format effective from 1991-92. Data for the years 1989-90 and 1990-91 have been recasted in the new format, making a few adjustments to the data in the process.  The users are requested to read carefully the 'explanatory notes' before using the data for the years 1989-90 and 1990-91.

The scheduled commercial banks (other than Regional Rural Banks) are required to disclose the following business ratios as a part of the ‘notes on annual accounts’ from the year 1997-98. These ratios are included in Section III.

  • Capital Adequacy Ratio,

  • Net NPA as a percentage to net advances,

  • Interest income as a percentage to working funds,

  • Non-interest income as a percentage to working funds,

  • Operating profit as a percentage to working funds,

  • Return on assets,

  • Business (deposits plus advances) per employee and

  • Profit per employee.

Besides the above mentioned ratios, facility for user-defined ratios has also been provided. Data can be extracted for selected items from any section for selected banks/bank-groups over a period of time. These facilities are explained in detail in help facility included in the site.
