Subsidiary General Ledger Account and Constituents' Subsidiary General Ledger Account: Eligibility Criteria and Operational Guidelines

In exercise of powers conferred by Section 4 of Government Securities Act 2006, Reserve Bank of India had notified the conditions applicable for opening and maintaining of Subsidiary General Ledger (SGL) Accounts and Constituents’ Subsidiary General Ledger (CSGL) Accounts vide notification No. 183 dated September 5, 2011, and as amended thereafter. In supersession to the above, revised notifications dated October 29, 2018 have been issued and gazetted by Reserve Bank of India.

It is also advised that guidelines on Value Free Transfer of Government Securities from one SGL/CSGL account to another will be issued shortly.
