Reserve
Bank of India has today placed on its website www.rbi.org.in
a draft Memorandum of Instructions for opening and maintenance of rupee / foreign
currency Vostro accounts of non-resident Exchange Houses for comments from Authorised
Dealer Category-I banks. In view
of the increased volume of business being handled by the Exchange Houses and improvements
in communication facilities between Exchange Houses and drawee banks, there was
a need to revise the existing instructions and the same has been finalised in
consultation with a few banks. Comments on the draft
circular may please be addressed to the Chief General Manager, Reserve Bank
of India, Foreign Exchange Department, Forex Markets Division, Central Office,
Shahid Bhagat Singh Marg, Mumbai- 400001 or through e-mail
latest by December 21, 2007.
